Lead into Gold, the solo venture of Paul Barker, renowned for his influential bass work with Ministry, returns with ‘Knife the Ally,’ set for release on June 6th, 2025, via Artoffact Records. This album follows 2023’s ‘The Eternal Present,’ and further refines Barker’s distinctive exploration of heavy electronic soundscapes.
‘Knife the Ally’ delivers a potent blend of robust industrial textures and intricate electronic arrangements. Barker’s signature sonic architecture is present, characterized by its dense layers and powerful rhythmic drive. However, this release introduces a subtly nuanced melodic dimension, creating a compelling interplay between dissonance and harmony.
Listeners can expect an album that is both sonically immersive and intellectually stimulating. ‘Knife the Ally’ represents a continued evolution of Lead into Gold’s sound, offering a sophisticated take on industrial music that balances raw power with refined artistry.
