Hard to imagine that the debut album from Michigan grind pummelers Cloud Rat is 12 years old this year. The debut, which first came out on a private press vinyl edition in 2010, has been out of print for years and sought after by collectors worldwide.
Recently the band polished the release, adding effects and guitar parts that they felt were missing from the original master. The band then passed the record to the loving hands and specialized ears of Harris Newman at Montreal’s Grey Market Mastering. The new edition, dubbed Cloud Rat Redux, is sonically spectacular, capturing Madison Marshall’s snarling vocals, Rorik Brooks’ furious guitar work, and the blast beats from original CR drummer Adrian Manges beautifully.
Cloud Rat Redux ships in April and is pressed on high-quality black vinyl. For the first time ever, the album is also available on CD.
