KEN mode nominated for a Juno Award!

Canadian noise-rock trailblazers KEN Mode have been nominated for the 2024 JUNO Award for “Metal/Hard Rock Album of the Year” for their exquisitely composed album, ‘VOID’, alongside Danko Jones, Voivod, Kataklysm, and Cryptopsy.

The Winnipeg band’s ninth studio album was released in September of 2023 via Toronto’s Artoffact Records and has been infecting Canada’s airwaves and standing steadily on the charts since its release.

Not new to the JUNO Awards or nominations, the band took home the JUNO Award in 2012 in the same category for their ‘Venerable’ album and this marks their fourth nomination since. They were also awarded with the WCMA in 2013 for best Heavy Metal/Hard album of the year and continue to be celebrated globally for their brutal releases, relentless touring schedule, and lauded live performances.

On today’s nomination, the band comments: “We’re honored to be nominated again, as when we were all losing our minds creating ugly music during the pandemic, shiny trophies were the furthest from what we were thinking about. To be mentioned in the same breath as all of these legit Canadian metal/rock legends is pretty sweet, and I guess if anything, it’s proof that we refuse to go away, and must be creating art that someone thinks is worthwhile.”
