Ghost Twin announces a new live show, celebrating the work of Jaimz Asmundson. The show will be on February 1st at The Handsome Daughter, with Mutable Body and Kindest Cuts as support.
Ghost Twin was the dark synthpop duo of Karen and Jaimz Asmundson. They created dark synthpop that combines roaring synthlines, dirty pulsing bass, dreamy guitar, and a haunting vocal dichotomy where Baroque meets Industrial, with live video percussion that feeds cinema through a cut-up technique imbued with occult aesthetics. But really, Ghost Twin was just something fun that Karen and Jaimz did together as a couple. It was this weird extension of their relationship that was special to a lot of people. Ghost Twin as it was is gone forever, as Jaimz passed away far too young in January 2024. After much mad grief and soul searching, Karen decided that Ghost Twin could live on. Thanks to the new lineup which includes talented and wonderful friends Pat Short (Kindest Cuts) and Alison Hain (Mutable Body), as well as Karen Asmundson, and the eternal spirit of Jaimz, Ghost Twin is very much alive.
