Tina - everything
Emerging from the fog of East London in 2020, Night in Athens is the creative vehicle of Tina, the former keyboardist for the post-punk outfit HAXON. While her previous work laid the foundation in shadow, this solo project sees her fully embrace the darkness, weaving a sonic tapestry that feels like a Gothic fairy tale gone wonderfully wrong. It is a project born of isolation and urban decay, blending the sharp edges of industrial music with the melodic sensibilities of darkwave.
The music of Night in Athens is defined by its atmospheric tension. Her unsettling vocals range from ghostly whispers to commanding declarations, acting as the centerpiece for “dynamic dirges” that refuse to stay buried. These tracks are not merely songs, but ritualistic excavations; she gleefully drags skeletons from the closet, using pulsing synthesizers and cold, mechanical beats to expose the grimy corners of the human condition. The lyrics often touch on themes of betrayal, internal conflict, and the surreal nature of modern existence, delivered with a raw honesty that is both jarring and hypnotic.
Since its inception, the project has quickly gained a reputation for its high-intensity live performances and its “D.I.Y. or die” aesthetic. By stripping away the traditional band structure, Tina has created a sound that is claustrophobic yet expansive, capturing the frantic energy of the London underground. Night in Athens stands as a testament to the beauty found in the grotesque, inviting listeners to dance through the wreckage of their own psyche while the world outside burns in neon hues.
Night In Athens signed a global deal in 2025 with Artoffact Records.
