Can you dream about a dream?

Perspective is everything, but what do you get when you give a new perspective on something that is in itself perspective? Urceus Exit stunned in 2005 with their Artoffact debut Contra, an album which essentially asks the question “what is perspective?”. One year later, Richard Duggan gives us a digital-only version of the Contra album, appropriately entitled Contra [Bonus Tracks & Remixes].

Where is perspective now? Richard gives us ten tracks which re-evaluate, echo, and question the ideas he presented on Contra. The haze with which Contra developed its themes is replaced with a new creation and a less fragmented illusion. Good Morning Beautiful echos its “goodbye” to the original, and the rest of the album combines typography and redefinition, only to culminate in what Jeremy Cook seems to think is all muddy coffee.

Alas, we never know who is looking, who is dreaming, and where the ideas of Urceus Exit might take us. Contra [Bonus Tracks & Remixes] is an intellectual puzzle available for download.
